Christ in the Desert

Remote north-central New Mexico

The Monastery of Christ in the Desert in New Mexico has a small gallery featuring the work of a Colorado photographer.  Having done some work for them in the past, they contacted me to consult on a proposed layout for the images.  I made several changes to the proposal including choosing different images to better balance the color palette and reducing the number of pieces on the wall in favor of larger images to create a more engrossing and dramatic effect.

Holy Child Catholic School

Tijeras, NM

I continue to collaborate with the staff and volunteers of Holy Child Catholic School in central New Mexico to help them create an in-school gallery that provides the students with a beautiful and tangible engagement of the school curriculum, which features a significant emphasis on art and its pedagogical power.

They chose the masterpieces they wanted to display in line with the periods of art and history they wanted to represent, and I handled the editing, printing, mounting, and framing.  In the photo you can see small image description plaques that accompany the pieces of art.  I created these especially for the school and incorporated the school's logo.  Each description plaque contains the title of the work, the name of the artist, the date of the artist's lifespan, and a write-up about the history and importance of the piece.
